About Me

Hi, I'm Urmi — welcome to my studio. What started as a few canvases in our basement has grown into a warm little space where kids, teens and adults come to paint, draw and grow.

I've spent years taking painting courses, studying technique and building my own body of work — I've even marketed and sold my own original paintings. That same curious, always-learning spirit is what I bring into every class I teach.

I don't teach because it's my job. I teach because I love it — there's nothing quite like watching a student realize they can make something beautiful with their own hands.

“I don't teach students to paint like me — I teach them to trust what only they can make.”

Why choose us

Quality, creativity, and real attention

Here's what parents and students actually notice once they join — not just a features list.

0101

Taught by a working artist

Every lesson comes from real studio experience — not a script. Students learn technique the way working artists actually think.

0202

Small, welcoming classes

Low student-to-teacher ratios mean every artist gets hands-on guidance, not just a demo from across the room.

0303

Every skill level, honestly

First-timers and returning artists work side by side. Lessons flex to meet each student exactly where they are.

0404

Confidence is the real curriculum

Technique matters, but the goal is bigger: kids who believe they can make something and mean it.

0505

Flexible scheduling

After-school, evening and weekend sessions, plus Zoom for snow days and older students — art that fits your family's week.

0606

A place to make real friends

Kids see the same faces every week — routine showcases, group projects and shared tables mean art class turns into friendships that last well beyond it.

From first sketch to finished artwork

Watch real growth, term after term

This is the arc every student moves through — not overnight talent, just steady practice and encouragement.

A finished piece

A finished piece

A completed, gallery-ready piece the student chose, planned and carried through to the end.

Proud on the wall

I hold routine showcases so you can walk in and see real progress for yourself — not just a report card, an actual wall of work.

Parents & students say

Trusted by families across the city

Real words from the people who show up every week — the best proof we have.

My daughter counts down the days to art class every single week. She's more confident showing her work than I've ever seen her — in anything.

Parent of a Young Artist student

I hadn't picked up a paintbrush since high school. The adult watercolour class brought it all back — and it's genuinely the best hour of my week.

Adult Watercolour student

Urmi actually looks at each kid's work and gives real feedback, not just 'great job!' My son has learned more here than a full year of art at school.

Parent of two students

The anime drawing class is the only after-school activity my son has never once asked to skip. He has an actual sketchbook full of his own characters now.

Parent, Anime & Character Drawing

My daughter was shy before joining — now she has a little group of art-class friends she talks about all week, and she asks to bring her paintings to school to show them off.
